1.        “CNS/HIV Anti-Retroviral Therapy Effect Research (CHARTER)” Principal investigator:  Igor Grant, Dr. Gelman is PI on Texas subcontract to UC San Diego Agency: National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), Dr. Gregory Chaljub Co-Investigator (Neuro MRI Brain Portion, approximately $10,000 budgeted). Type:  Subcontract. This contract involves being one of six sites that will determine prospectively the effect of HAART on the neurological and neuropsychological changes associated with HIV infection. The other sites under contract are located in San Diego, St. Louis, New York, Seattle, and Baltimore.
